Wellness VisitsWe are commonly asked, "Are there any check ups or wellness visits included with your program?"
One of the exciting differences of our Medical Cost Sharing group is that all three of our program options include annual wellness visits or physicals, for which there are no symptoms or diagnosis in advance. This includes, but is not limited to routine check ups, lab work, x-rays, pap smears and blood tests. That way everyone can have a basis point for checking their health every year and it is included in our program.
Wellness visits are shared even before you meet your annual out of pocket, unshared amounts. (Annual Unshared Amount or AUA) However there are some limits. Expenses for one wellness exam per member is eligible for sharing every year up to a maximum of $400 of fair and resonable charges as determined by Liberty HealthShare. Wellness visits are NOT eligible for sharing during the first 60 days of membership.
Pap smears are eligible for sharing once every year not subject to the AUA. Screening colonoscopies, PSA tests and mamograms are eligible for sharing once every two years up through age 49. From age 50 on, screening colonoscopies, PSA tests and mamograms are eligible for sharing every year and not subject to the AUA.
Normal well baby checkups including immunizations are eligible for sharing during the first year of the baby's life as well. These are included without having to meet your annual unshared amounts.
