Will my doctor accept this? The answer to this question is very likely yes! There are no network requirements. You can use any provider that you would like. Pretty much all doctors like to get paid and that's what our membership does. We facilitate the sharing of each others eligible medical expenses. Our experience shows that just about 9 out of 10 of doctors and other providers will be willing to work with you with no questions asked when you present your membership card.
Here's how it works:When you arrive at your provider's office and they ask for your insurance info, just hand them the card. You don't need to explain anything. Ninety percent of the time they will make a copy and proceed as normal. Liberty will negotiate the rates when the bill is sent to them. If the doctor has any questions, just have them call the number on the back of the card and our staff will help them get you set up.
Medical offices always require paperwork indicating who will pay and what insurance you might have. These forms are the same regardless of who is paying the bill. The providers want you to indicate that you will take personal responsibility to pay any expenses that you incurr. The paperwork protects them and tells them where to send the bill. They bill your insurance company first and then any left over amounts are paid by you. You may have experienced this before.
Members of Liberty HealthShare simply use the membership card in place of an insurance card. We provide Liberty's billing information to the doctor's office and they send the bill directly to Liberty. Liberty's membership pays the eligible expenses through our ShareBox technology (after a member has met their annual unshared amount) per the guidelines.
In the case that a doctor's office might have any questions, have them call the number on your membership card to resolve any concerns. In most cases, Liberty's professional staff are able to answer any potential questions and work it out so that your provider will be satisfied with the arrangement. We're confident that you'll likely find that your medical providers will be happy to work with you as a member of Liberty HealthShare.
What if my doctor won't take the card?Ultimately our members are cash payers so you can go to whatever provider you want and pay cash and be reimbursed so long as the expenses are eligible to be shared per the guidelines. You may want to go this route or you may want to find another doctor. As a member you do have a very broad variety of options available. Remember: We're dedicated to taking control of our health care. This may require a bit of work on your part. Since we have no network, many members view this as a liberating paradigm, not a restrictive one.
Please see the guidelines for all the details about what's eligible to be shared.
